Kalimah Allah. Move along now...

The verdict is out. But there are still objections. That’s not surprising.

On this issue of kalimah Allah, it is about not allowing the usage of Allah in the Malaysian edition bible right? For the Christians in Malaysia to not refer their God as, right? Because if it is merely about giving permission to a non-muslim to use it verbally, then it should not be a problem at all. Tak perlu keluarkan fatwa. I agree to that. Even my chinese lecturer likes using Insya-Allah, and I like hearing it from him too.

Anyway, this is my take on the issue itself. More like questions.

The bible was NOT originally written in Arab unlike the Quran. So why do they need to use a translated word (in Arab) for a translated version of the bible? Allah is mentioned and can be clearly found many times in the Quran. Is it true the word Allah can also be found in the untranslated Bible as well? Or did they actually use Eli or Eloi or Elaha?

So why not use those words of the actual language of the bible then (Hebrew & Aramaic). If it was written in Aramaic then use the Aramaic word for God then. Wouldn't it be better so that the significance of the original language is not receded? I believe that the bible also encourages its readers to preserve the original texts even in translated versions.

To me, this issue is being manipulated by certain people who actually have no deal whatsoever with the case. Saja nak menyibuk. Jadi batu api. Suddenly, from an issue of faith and religion, it becomes an issue of freedom of expression and all those murican drabbles. -_-"

This guy explains the situation in detail. About the Uluhiyah and Rububiyah concept. But it's in Malay though...

The verdict is out. Let’s move on. We have bigger and more severe issues to deal with. Like why do I even need to buy parking coupons from a shop 2580cm away to park in front of Imigresen Port Klang? Where’s the b%##dy parking meter??

Dad, where are we going? #14

arrghh..this show just gets cuter and cuter every time!!

at the beginning of the episode, the production team gave each child a letter written by their mothers after they had a busy day of planting trees, hectically searched for ingredients at the market, and filled their bellies with an awesome dinner. i totally love this part coz each mother wrote exactly what the dads did or did not do. there are several favourite scenes of mine that i'd like to share. Like how Jiahs' mom told her husband not to carry Jiah around and let her walk by herself where in fact, he already committed the crime moments before. since that was the case, Jiah asked whether she could ask her oppas to carry her making her dad to automatically say a big fat NO to it. funny enough, this brought her dad to bring up the issue of guys. what's interesting is how Jongkook later 'reprimanded' his daughter for hugging or kissing guys/boyfriends freely (i'm sure he was referring to the Jiah-Hoo moments). he also taught her how to avoid being kissed by a guy. he even told her to slap the future boyfriend if he tried to kiss her providing his own cheek as a test subject. hrmm..i'm not sure how long she'll keep this promise. i can even imagine the pain and hardships her future boyfriend/husband has to go through to get Jiah.

meanwhile, Junsus' mom reminded Jonghyuk to brush Junsu's teeth before going to bed. actually, Jonghyuk was going to let his son off this time but since they got that warning letter from mom, they couldn't go against it. luckily, Junsu wasn't crying or whining this time.

and Juns' letter...aish this kid can really tug my heartstrings real hard. after reading his moms' letter which unlike the other kids moms who asked their husbands to either brush their child's teeth, wear their own clothes, or walk by themselves, Juns' mom only asked that they stay the way they are now- closer and warmer compared to when the show first started (or even before that). she also mentioned how she didn't mind when Dongil won't read storybooks to Jun or help wash his face and such, though it would be nice if he did. Lastly, when Jun reached the part where his mom said 'i love you' to both of them, he couldn't stand it and cried. he actually cried. because of one line from a letter. of course, being the soft-tissue-fluffy-hearted person i am, i teared up as well. seriously guys/gals...u just have to watch this part.

and that's that. i'm only mentioning a bit of the episode coz u ppl should really watch it. would not want to spoil everything. so if u adore kids, want to be entertained by innocent humour made by these naive, toothless, single digit-aged minors, and watch a massive display of affection by dads, then this program can fill in your hollow soul. here's the link for this ep:

Daddy..Where are We Going??

i think i just started something i shouldn't have. or rather, started watching something i shouldn't during these critical final semester of mine.
and it comes in the form of another korean variety show called Appa Oediga? or Dad Where Are We Going?

basically its about 5 normal korean kids with celebrity dads and they go out somewhere on an outing every weekend. something like family outing but among real family members - 5 dads and 5 kids on a mission at a different place every week.

its pretty funny and entertaining actually coz we all know how children are pure at heart and everything they say or do is pretty much legit. the show is mostly natural and lacks any scripts whatsoever (one of the kids can't even read yet and another one still has difficulty in reading).
like how its reaally sweet seeing Jiah giving her dad a bubu every 5.6 secs or how Hoo keeps complaining that he's hungry. Minguk who's really fragile at heart, Junsu who keeps questioning everything his dashing father says and finally there's chic Jun who totaaally looks like his dad (bad old guy from Chuno) but is a more mini cuter adorable mysterious handsome version. i think he's the only one that can say andwae! to Jiah's request.

i recognize most of the dads from dramas and shows but i can't remember their names. besides, its the kids that we should focus on. keuchi? =D

Kim Minguk is the eldest on the show. he's responsible and wise when he's around his dongsaengs. openly shows affection towards his dad. has good behaviour and a bit of a crybaby. (who isn't?)
then there's Yoon Hoo the plumpy kid. he's squishy, adorable. talkative, philosophical, interesting and funny. he's also weirdly smart- u need to watch the show to know. He loves eggs, kimchi, rice...basically food is his best friend. the efforts he shows to get a meal is no joke sistah! thanks to him i find every food to be suddenly tasty and must be eaten constantly.

Jiah is the only princess here. daddy's little girl. her ambition is to marry her dad. lol. pretty, lovable, smart, and its always entertaining to watch her reactions with her dad and her friends- especially Hoo whom she has created a loveline with. her dad tends to get jealous when she favours Hoo more. he is afterall, his daughter's dummy (one of the caption mentions babo appa. haha.)
Lee Junsu is among the younger kids. he smiles and laughs a lot but tends to get cranky when he's in a bad mood. he's a prankster this one..weirdly amusing, 4D, and adorable as fluff. it only takes 5 seconds for this kid to snore like a bear. oh, and his favourite word is waee??

and finally Jun who i think is really good looking and very well behaved for a kid. always listens to his strict dad but at times tends to rebel cutely. he starts off being awkward with his dad but as the show goes on, they begin to open up more to each other so its really endearing to watch this sweet progress. he's also normally silent on the shows but nevertheless entertaining as well. and did u know that his eyes can shoot lasers?

so yeah..basically i'm promoting this show to you. it's really the hype right now and their ratings have also increased rapidly. so to all of you who have assignments, thesis, homeworks to submit, we all know you're the type to procrastinate and prioritize fun and entertainment stuff more.

i'll give you a few examples why this show gives me diarrhea (from laughing too much):

Hoo in ep.7 after he's been praised for reading:
“How can King Sejong teach me the Korean alphabet when he’s already passed away?”
“Great people turn into stones. Just like King Sejong.”

Junsu in ep.8 when he wanted the rain to stop:
"Please God, make the rain stop. In return, I'll throw you this potato."

if u don't think that's hilarious then i doubt your existence on earth. so i'm gonna be a sweetheart and give you the link:

Another April 1st

this post has no meaning whatsoever. just thought i'd make one coz i noticed that last year i wrote about something insignificant on this very same date as well.

but then again, it may serve a purpose. thus, i shall tell the world today how i was fooled by life. how what i expected did not come true. how devastated i am right now with the current occurrences that is currently occurring.

to think that i went through all those hardships within a year and to then end up with nada coz of that last stage. of course, i myself saw it coming what with that asdfghjkl performance of mine.

shame on me. shame on you. shame on your cow.

naah...it's not that bad. yes i am sad but of course, everything happens for a reason right? right?? no? ok.

Stay with Me My Love - recap #50

errk..haven't been watching it for weeks and next thing i know.. it's already the last episode! *sobs* so i'm gonna make this quick.

suk-bin was released while still being under investigation after so-ryong along with his new legit halmeoni managed to stop suk-bin and jung-ja's plan to take over the company. bad guys got what they deserved- they moved to a smaller house and lost everything (poor suk-bin's dad and dongsaeng).

suk-bin's ex-wife moved back to the US (why is it always america, i wonder? can't it be hong kong, australia, sweden, or whatever...lol.)
so-ryong and mi-sol got married while suk-bin watched from afar (stoopid pitiful adorable guy).

suk-bin then went missing. yada..yada..he got into an accident and damaged his brain. now he's like a 5 year old kid in which jun-ja has to take care of for the rest of her life. kesiaaan..
aaaand.....

mi-sol's mom went to study cooking overseas. while on the plane, that jin-gook ahjussi sat beside her (so we can assume that they'll be together there).

happy ending for all?
yep. i suppose. toodles~

Stay with Me My Love - recap #34

Yep. It’s confirmed that Yoon-jung cheated on Suk-bin with her high school sweetheart – some guy called Jason. Seriously now..they all started as the good guys ppl! What happened?? Anyway, Suk-bin went berserk after knowing the truth and started hitting her repeatedly till Jun-ja stopped him.

Meanwhile So-ryung’s mom told Mi-sol to stop dating her son. She didn't want him going out with someone who already has a child (I seriously don’t know why). So when So-ryung serenaded her over lunch with balloons, candles, a bank account book and started drabbling on how he wanted as many children as possible, Mi-sol couldn't stand it and ran away. However, she felt sorry for So-ryung as she recollected all the memories and hardships that they had gone through together. So she went to see his mom and begged her to accept her. So-ryung’s mom refused.

The DNA results came out and it was confirmed that So-ryung is the missing grandchild – the legit heir to Jin Sung Group. After knowing this, Suk-bin decided to stay with Yoon-jung on one condition – the child must be given to Jin-gook as his  uncle's child. Well, Yoon-jung being the tough woman she is (she changed her mind about committing suicide) told Suk-bin she agreed on giving her baby away with her own condition. She wanted all the company shares that President Halmeoni had given to Suk-bin.

Stay with Me My Love - recap #33

Today, that evil middle-aged vermin Jun-ja (Suk-bin’s mom) continued on stalking Young-woo. She was surprised when she saw So-ryung, Mi-sol, and Young-woo together. Being the evil witch she is, she sent a picture of them together to So-ryung’s mom along with a letter saying that her son was dating a girl who already has a child. The reason? She didn’t want anyone to get in the way of her future plans of getting Young-woong back. Of course So-ryung’s mom was equally surprised as she was afterall, Mi-sol’s ex-high school teacher.

However, compared with the stupid and brash Jun-ja, she kept her cool when Mi-sol came to their house to visit So-ryung’s family. Her silence added with the fact that she didn’t say anything about them knowing each other made Mi-sol go all guilty, sad, and helpless.

Oh yeah, today Jun-ja also sent a sample of both So-ryung and President Halmeoni’s DNA to confirm her suspicions of them being actually related.

Meanwhile, Yoon-jung and Suk-bin went to a mini reunion with their high school friends (omo.. Young-mee was there too!). The fertility doctor Hyun-min was there as well. Seeing that the couple were all happy about their pregnancy made him remorseful knowing the fact that Suk-bin was sterile. Soo…being the good guy he is, he became drunk and told Suk-bin the truth personally.

Stay with Me My Love - recap #32

Today’s story was a bit slow and dull…
Sukbin’s mom was utterly despaired when she found out that Sukbin has azoospermia – thus confirming that Yoonjung (Sukbin’s wife) is carrying another man’s seed. She told the doctor Hyungmin beforehand not to tell Sukbin anything so right now Sukbin thinks his wife is pregnant with his child.

Meanwhile, Sunah is being openly gossiped by her co-workers and customers at the restaurant (remember the run-away bride case?). Misol sees this firsthand and feels extremely sad about this. She tells her mother to quit her job. Blah..blah…they cry and hug each other.

I suppose the highlight of today’s story is that Misol bumped into her high school teacher who knew about her pregnancy back then. Of course, who else would it be none other than…. Soryung’s mom! But they don’t know yet about each other’s relationship with Soryung.

Later on, Sukbin’s mom had already gotten over with Yoonjung’s adultery (this is still a mystery) as she told herself that that child will be given to Jingook. What’s important is that her son has now been handed with some of the company’s share. But somehow, she’s gone wonkers as she starts to stalk Young Woong (Sukbin’s child with Misol) at his school and fantasizing to get Young Woong back.

Some good news here is that Soryung managed to get his proposal acknowledged and accepted by the company. So now he’s gonna be some project leader for something. Yippee!

Anyway, Sukbin’s mom got a call from Song ahjussi (the old man who’s like the ultimate secret bearer of this story) who told her he found out Mrs.Kong’s whereabouts. So she went to see her and pressured her to tell her where the baby that was found on the footsteps of the orphanage was right now. Lo and behold she pointed her finger at a man walking across the street. Sukbin’s mom dropped her jaw in surprise – the child that was missing, the supposed child of her sister in law, the legitimate heir of Jin Sung Group was....
Soryung!

Stay with Me My Love - recap #31

Waah..bestnya cerita Stay With Me My Love ni! I’m now addicted to it. though the drama is actually already over tapi dia buat ulang tayang kat SBS and right now its at ep 31. So..here’s a little recap of it.

Mi-sol’s mom Sun-ah was supposed to get married with Jin-gook. But unfortunately Suk-bin had planned for Mi-sol to be kidnapped so that the marriage would get cancelled. It worked.
Later on, there was a bit of drama here and there in which one of them was that Suk-bin’s wife (forgot her name lol) forced Mi-sol to interview her mother on why she ‘ran away’ on her wedding day. While Mi-sol was in a dilemma on whether she should interview her own mother or not, Jin-gook saved the day by appearing (after m.i.a for a couple of days) and explaining that it was his entire fault thus ending the run-away bride conflict.
Jin-gook later on met up with Sun-ah and told her that he still believed in her and still wanted them to be together. Sun-ah didn’t deny that she still had feelings for Jin-gook and they hugged each other in the car. (awww)
Meanwhile, Suk-bin’s wife found out that she was 4 weeks pregnant. While the family was all happy and celebrating, Suk-bin suddenly got a call from the fertility hospital. The doctor told him his results – that he was infertile.

Sooo…that ends the drama for today. It seems that we have a new conflict. This time it’s the bad guys turn. Btw, I really ship So-ryung and Mi-sol. It was sweet when after the kidnapping drama, So-ryung whom didn’t know anything went up to see her. Mi-sol then just hugged him and told him she was soo sad and didn’t want him to ask anything. It was such a short sweet moment.

Baggin' em Baggins Stuff

sooo....

we were in a contest mood that day and decided to enter 8tv nite live's "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" contest, and guess what?? ahem..ahem..we won grand prize! wooot~ hahah. all you had to do was to say why the movie is a must watch movie in 2012 and this is what we came up with.....

In a hole in the ground,
there lived a hobbit.
If one does not seek,
one may not know it.

A peaceful life did Baggins have.
Not one to dismay, not one to starve.
Till Thorin and Co. barged through the door.
Of course, wouldn’t Gandalf happen to know?

Loyalty, honour, a willing heart,
Is what it takes before the start.
The unexpected journey this hobbit goes,
Is an adventure filled with magic, friends and foes.

They seek a treasure far off in the East,
Elves, dwarves, dragons and goblins,
My! What a headache for Burglar Baggins.

But it does not end there,
Would you like to know the rest of the story?
Well, what else is there to do but to go and see this must watch 2012 movie!

thanx 8tv. awesome weii~
